This looks just like the true point. The sensor that triggers the red light is fairly decent picks items up from pretty a distance.
I created it appear even way more real, by taking the wires out of an old broken (battery operated) toy that my Son had and glueing them under the batteries in the dummy camera exactly where there was a tiny hole going into the device. I applied rubber cement (like E6000 that you can come across in any sewing department). I then produced a small notch in the battery door and strung the wires out of the camera via there. I drilled my pilot holes for the screws that the bracket attaches to. I then drilled another tiny hole in the ceiling next to the pilot holes and below where the bracket for the camera would go. I put glue on the finish of the wires and threaded them into that hole. I then installed the camera and bracket over that hole I drilled.
This way if somebody ever pulls the camera out of the ceiling to see if it is genuine, they will be pretty certain their photo was taken when they recognize they just ripped a bunch of wires out of the ceiling - that were attached to the camera.
I read all the critiques of this type of item prior to buying and decided to attempt it anyway. Some said the motion sensor did not function, and that was my initial encounter, but then identified it does operate in dim light or the dark, but not in vivid light. Otherwise, it looks superior and hope it will do its job. I bought two, pretty inexpensively, but the shipping charge seemed high and turned out to be 3 occasions what the seller really spent on shipping. Oh well.
