i have quite a few foscam IP cameras ( Fi8918W) that will allow me to see my house from anyplace in the world that has an Net connection,we had some difficulties with washed out and discolored images on the FI8918W , it wasn't so terrible , but this new FI8910W has the IR cut filter and fixes the issues related to washed out and discolored images , it is $10.00 even more , but if I am paying 89.99 (which is a quite low cost for such a device in the first location) this $10.00 wont make a massive difference . Also The camera looks and feels nicer and more durable then the old one . BTW the old a single had a 1 Year warranty and this has a two year also something to assume about.
I bought this camera as a child monitor solution for my Baby . I have a iPhone and iPad , and having this camera has been a terrific alternative to typical infant monitor's as we can see whats going on anywhere we go , and use it as a Nanny cam . I definitely like the ability to control the camera. The setup can be a tiny tricky but there are some wonderful posts on the web to help you on either Pc or Mac. I would highly advocate this camera.The setup for allowing access to the camera outside your nearby network does require some specialized understanding on how to configure port forwarding on your router. Depending on your expertise that may be an concern, But if you go to the foscam web page they to have all directions how to do it , and following setting it up I am Happy now .
